A CASE IN POINT CLIENT STORY


How Jackson Reeves Lawyers got a polished, search-ready website live on time, then had a merger roll straight onto it.

The challenge of the rebrand and website project

Jackson Reeves Lawyers, are a well-established Tauranga firm, they needed a professional website that did their reputation justice, and they wanted it live by a fixed launch date (June 2026). There was no room to slip: the date was tied to firm announcements, so the site simply had to be ready.


On top of the usual build, the project came with a few real-world complications. The firm's domain had been connected to Wix once before under a different account, which meant ownership had to be untangled before anything could go live. There were also several people in the mix (a copywriter, a photographer and the firm's IT provider), all of whom needed coordinating to hit the date.


What I did

I took ownership of the whole rebranding and website development project and the moving parts around it. That meant visual brand strategy and audience profling, designing and developing a brand and tehn a website on Wix, bringing in the professionally written copy and photography, and producing the brand assets the firm needed alongside it: logo files ready for use and letterhead templates the office could work with day to day.


During the project we ran into a hurdle with their domain. I worked directly with Wix support and the firm's IT provider to prove ownership and pair the domain correctly, so the launch wasn't held up by a technical snag outside anyone's control. Once that was sorted, I connected the site to Google Search Console so it was set up to be found from day one, and transferred the site across to the firm while staying on as their designer for anything that came next.



There were also challenges with having many different staff to co-ordinate for the photoshoot, to get feedback from on project milestones and working with contractors and keeping everyone on track with the project schedule.


The outcome

The site launched on schedule. The domain migration went through cleanly despite the earlier complication, the firm had a website that finally matched the calibre of their work, and it was properly indexed and ready for search rather than quietly invisible.


On time: Launched on the fixed, non-negotiable date

Search-ready: Smooth Migration from existing website and Connected to Google Search Console at launch

Ongoing: Retained for brand assets and a later merger rollout


Just as telling: the relationship didn't end at launch. The firm kept me on for follow-up work, and when a merger with another practice came up, that update rolled straight onto the site I'd built, new people, new sections and all.


And the client's own words across the JR Legal project said it simply enough: "We've had a lot of positive response," and after another quick fix, "Awesome. Thanks Zoe."
